CEVA Logistics, a leading global supply chain management company, has renewed its partnership with Michelin Thailand, for a further three years.
CEVA will continue to manage the customer’s Thailand logistics operations, handling the inbound movement of tires from Michelin’s production plants into the warehouse facilities in three main locations across Thailand, situated in Laemchabang, Nongkea and Nongree. As part of its integrated solution for Michelin, CEVA ensures that the tires and accessories are delivered, handled and presented correctly to meet Michelin’s service level requirements to their end customers. CEVA manages third-party sub-contractors and transport providers, as well as transportation planning and delivery control activities. In addition, CEVA provides Network Engineering, full KPI Reporting and POD management to ensure that Michelin’s targets are met. The wide range of services offered to the customer is underpinned by CEVA’s advanced IT solutions, which provide Michelin with visibility throughout the supply chain, from point of collection to point of delivery. Using the same processes, CEVA will also control the reverse logistics for Michelin.
CEVA also provides Michelin with services for cross-border transportation to and from Malaysia and focuses on continuous value creation in transportation, reducing cost while reducing CO2 emissions through load consolidation and effective route planning.
Dean Thorpe, Managing Director of CEVA in Thailand, commented: “We have worked in partnership with Michelin over the last seven years to develop and deliver an efficient and optimal operation. With the mutual support and understanding between our two organizations, we are confident that we will continue to manage this key part of their supply chain with optimum efficiency and provide complete visibility through robust IT solutions. This contract renewal is testament to the excellent and successful collaboration between CEVA and Michelin and it will enable us to increase the customer’s overall supply chain effectiveness in a very competitive market.”
