‘BEML Limited’ of India partners with ‘ Paragon Machinery Limited, as its distributor, to open heavy machinery market for the first time in Thailand. A good start with 21 units of latest technology 100-ton dumper, sold to Electricity Generating Authority of FThailand (EGAT) for Lignite mining purposes.
Mr. V. RS. NATARAJAN, Chairman and Managing Director, BEML Limited revealed that South East Asia region has been expanding heavy industrialization, which is the core of the infrastructure system for developing countries, for example, industries for metal, mining, power plants, rails and metro infrastructure system. The listed company BEML Limited, a government of India company, specializes in R & D and manufacturing of heavy equipments applicable to Mining & construction, Defence, Rail & Metro cars etc. to use in infrastructure and related industries. Thus, BEML wants to expand its market into South East Asia region including Thailand by partnering with M/s Paragon Machinery Co., LTD, its dealer in Thailand working to be the only distributor in Thailand, providing their after sale service and parts support to the country.

With expertise in researching and developing and producing heavy machinery and equipment for wide range of industrial products, the company’s first export product to Thailand’s market is worth THB 750 million for 21 nos. of 100 ton Dump Trucks with the measurements 5mX5mX10m which is the latest technology for vehicles used for mining industry.
Presently BEML received a purchasing order of 21 Dump Truck units with 10 years service contact from Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand-EGAT to use in their lignite mine in Mae Moh District, Lampang Province. The Mae Moh mine is the largest open pit lignite mine in Thailand to produce raw materials using in Mae Moh power plants following the Ministry of Energy’s Power
Development Plan (PDP 2010) which said to increase electrical energy to 54625 megawatts as the power demand rise. In the plan, 10000 megawatts will be generated from coal-fired power plant.
BELM Limited and Paragon Machinery Co.,Ltd. handed in the first 7 units of Dump Trucks to EGAT on 2nd August 2010 at Bangkok Free Trade Zone, Bangplee with His Excellency, the Ambassador of India to Thailand, Mr. Pinak Ranjan Chkravathy, was the guest of honour.
As for the market direction in Thailand, Mr. V. RS. NATARAJAN stated that “Thailand market still have a lot more potential. BEML will work together with Paragon Machinery Co.,Ltd. The Thai company will be responsible in marketing as an only BEML distributor, supplies equipment parts and provides one-stop customer services in Thailand. BEML has prepared to set up a full operation base, and in the near future, expects to be able to open factories to produce machinery parts in Thailand, as well as expanding to other countries, such as Myanmar, Laos and Vietnam.”
