Bangkok--8 Aug--Bangkok Public Relation South Florida is under siege from a new invasive species: African Rock Pythons. These lethal giant constrictors are one of nature’s most aggressive snakes. As exotic pets or in the wild, they have attacked and killed humans. Now on the loose in Florida, people, native animals and the ecosystem are in danger. Currently confined to an area west of Miami, if these predators make it to the Everglades and interbreed with another invasive behemoth — Burmese Pythons — it could give birth to a frightening hybrid MAN-EATING SUPER SNAKE. Authorities in Florida are battling to stop these ferocious killer aliens, but are they too late? Premieres on Animal Planet on Sunday, August 14 at 1800 hrs on TrueVisions 21. Encores on Monday, August 15 at midnight and 0800 hrs and Thursday, August 18 at 1300 hrs. MAN-EATING SUPER SNAKE will introduce viewers to the slithery predators’ tactics, from their swift ambush to their ability to exert lethal pressure on their prey. It also examines the possibility that a larger, more vicious hybrid will be produced, that can wipe out species and wreak havoc on the native ecosystem in Florida. Florida’s beautiful landscape makes it a hotspot for tourists but it is also home to a number of incredibly vicious creatures that can survive in the harshest of conditions - like the African Rock Python that can grow up to 20 feet long. One of nature’s most effective and efficient predators, these pythons use brute physical force to kill their prey. Its sharp teeth are used to hold its prey as the python slowly coils its powerful body around it and kills it by literally squeezing the life out of it. Although the African Rock Python lacks venom glands, it is still capable of inflicting a serious bite that can cause severe tissue damage. They have eaten white tail deer, alligators and in some cases, even humans. But African Rock Pythons are not the first killer snakes to make their homes in South Florida. The Burmese Python, a super-sized beast native to Southeast Asia, has been marauding across this landscape for decades. If these two species mate, there is a possibility that a new hybrid super-constrictor will be produced, unlike anything south Florida has ever seen. A potential new threat in the form of a natural born killing machine may emerge, combining the Burmese Python’s colossal size with the African Rock Python’s ferocity. Can authorities in Florida combat and eradicate the new giant constrictor threat before it results in dire consequences for the ecosystem? Find out on MAN-EATING SUPER SNAKE on Animal Planet this.
