Siam Commercial Bank has unveiled its road map for a planned expansion of its digital banking service under the “Easy Digital Banking, Easy Experience” concept to ensure coverage through a variety of products and channels meeting finance management needs.
Mrs. Arunporn Limskul, SCB Head of the CRM & Electronic Channels Division, said the Bank intended to expand its digital banking service to cater to the lifestyles of various groups of customers with a strategy oriented toward finance management needs of clients for saving, investment, and borrowing in addition to financial transactions including money transfer, bill payment, and credit card award redemption.
“To this end, we have spared no effort in developing our services to ensure they are individually customized to meet the lifestyles of our clients under our 'Easy Digital Banking, Easy Experience' concept, which features simple applications, convenient access to service channels, and enhanced security ,” Arunporn said.
Online service channels have enjoyed rapid growth of up to 50% over the past year, with the customer base expected to increase to 2.8 million within 4 years from more than 1 million at present. In particular, and Mobile Banking service channel usage has doubled.
To continue online investment product and service development assisting personal finance management, she said, SCB Easy Net, one of the Bank's online service arms, has teamed up with SCB Securities Co., Ltd., the Bank's securities arm, to introduce an “Easy Stock” program featuring the online trading of capital and derivative instruments and targeted to all groups of customers in the first phase of service. The service was launched following the successful implementation of online fund unit trading via the SCB “Easy Fund” service, which sees an annual trade volume of up to 90 billion baht.
The “Easy Stock” program is set to be developed in three phases. In the first phase, clients will only be able to use the service through a “Single Sign-on” system. Collateral pledges for securities trading will be required in the second phase, and clients will have to open a securities trading account in the final phase.
SCB Easy Net is regarded as one of the Bank's most effective online channels, providing prompt and convenient financial service to its clients. Around 150 million transactions with a total value of 350 billion baht are expected to be performed through the system this year.
In the near future, the service will be expanded to accommodate various transactions and more functions will be available for advanced smart phones and tablets including iPads.
