In order to promote EXAT's new hi-tech Easy Pass system for improved traffic flow in the metropolis, the government agency recently launched a marketing contest in which students from the nation's top universities had a chance to show off their skills and ingenuity in promoting the said system.
This contest was done as a joint project by the Expressway Authority of Thailand and Kasetsart University. The objective of the contest was to motivate the public to pay toll fees using the Easy Pass and to create frequent usage of such. The participants had to present their plans at Central department stores in Bangkok to persuade the general public.
For the competition, a total of 10 teams from the country's top educational institutions were selected from Assumption University, Bangkok University, Chulalongkorn University, Kasetsart University, Krirk University, Mahidol University, Rangsit University, Sripatum University, Thammasart University, and the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce.
In the end, Assumption University's (ABAC) team bagged the first prize. As the winner, the team received 50,000 THB and a certificate, while Thammasart University and Bangkok University each received 30,000 and 20,000 as first runner up and second runner up respectively.
The team of 15 ABAC students was advised by Ajarns Nattaporn, Porameth, and Chulaluck from the university's Department of Marketing. The team consisted mostly of students from the Martin de Tours School of Management and Economics from different majors. Among the marketing majors were Mr. Karn Luanpreda, Mr. Bovorn Bovornsombat, Miss Tanida Ratayapimol, Miss Nunthanut Kewsuwan, Miss Thanyawan Methitanpongwanit, Miss Walinda Dilokwattanakoon, Miss Phimnattha Khongkriangkrai, Mr. Verayuth Lomtakul, Miss Thitipajong Sukreeyapongse, Miss Kanokrak Rujanawong, Miss Arada Sritawan, and Miss Bhatcharunya Thanuthammapong. Among the international business management majors were Miss Naphaphon Sawaviboon and Miss Sinit Chandrakoolphong. The team also had an advertising major from the Albert Laurence School of Communication Arts, Miss Hathaipun Jaroenthawornlap.
