Aigner’s Fall/Winter Collection 2011/2012 is geared towards women who are not afraid of showing their personality. They are self-confident and they pride themselves in their contemporary and feminine sophistication.
Aigner’s style is both sporty and elegant at the same time, it is always up-to-date, with a particular emphasis on design.
Aigner’s new leather collection — is a merging of ethno-cultural and graphic elements. It has taken its inspiration from Mexico and the artist Frida Kahlo, the highlands of Peru and the rainforests of South America. Craftsmanship, coupled with traditional folkloric influences, has given life to an expressive collection that is spectacularly vivid in its choice of graphics and colours.
The collection consists of 20 series and is divided into four categories: Premium, Top Premium, Designer Level and High Luxury. The series bear illustrious names like “Sierra”, “Cerniera” and “Selva” . They have been produced in coarse cowhide and buckskin, which evoke a slight Gaucho atmosphere. Pony skin has been used to give a luxurious feel, not to mention one of the real highlights — feathery light alpaca leather that is so rarely used in manufacturing.
When it comes to shape and form classic frame bags are de rigeur, but there is the occasional small shoulder bag. Vintage and ethnic elements like gold coins, tassels and pom-poms evoke the cultural diversity of South America and Mexico.
Alongside the “Ethnographica” collection a new travel line has also been planned for autumn/winter — it is called “Aventura” and consists mainly of trolleys and work bags.
Regarding colours, bottle-green is completely new to the collection, along with cayenne, cinnamon and midnight-blue. Gentle nude and brown tones, as well as varying shades of grey, are the perfect complement to what are otherwise very powerful tones. The classic Chianti-red — so typical of Aigner can be found in every series.
The Vintage collection sees Aigner’s accessories returning to the brand’s origins, that sophisticated timeless style that the German fashion house is famous for worldwide. Every outfit has been completed by one of these precious leather bags; ten specially selected models that bring together tradition and innovation, to give life to a piece which is completely unique due to the fine materials used and the sophisticated craftsmanship. The various shapes and sizes of the bags make the collection versatile. The tones that have been used for the collection are “Chianti”, olive green and whiskey. All the pieces are characterized by the brand’s distinctive horseshoe logo.
