Photo release: Siemens gets 2 power plants EPC contract from EGAT

Bangkok--23 Aug--Siemens Siemens Energy and the partner Marubeni Corporation have been awarded the construction contract (EPC) for two 800 megawatt combined cycle power plants; Chana Block 2 in Songkhla and Wangnoi Block 4 in Ayutthaya. The total investment volume amounts to approximately USD1 billion, with more than half for the Siemens scope of supply. The two associated long-term maintenance contracts for Siemens will be signed at a later date. The plants are scheduled to go online by 2014.
