DuPont announced today the opening of its first Innovation Center in the ASEAN region in Bangkok, Thailand. DuPont Thailand Innovation Center is a forwardlooking initiative by the global science-based company to explore how innovation can fuel local collaborative efforts to foster an exchange of ideas, to improve efficiency and response, and to help customers and partners, government and other organizations get new solutions to market faster.
“The ASEAN population has grown to become the third largest after China and India, generating greater need for food, energy and protection. DuPont Thailand is committed to leading collaborative and inclusive innovation in response to the opportunities for economic growth arising in our country and the region. Collaboration is the driving force behind establishing this Innovation Center,” said DuPont Thailand Managing Director Dr Somchai Laohaverapanich.
DuPont Thailand Innovation Center serves as a good cooperative platform where customers and working partners explore fresh perspectives and new ideas with regards to products and services. DuPont seeks to address the needs of leading Thai companies that are constantly looking for new technological innovation, in the key industry areas of food and agriculture, oil & gas, renewable energy and construction.
“At the Thailand Innovation Center, we can connect with a network of 100 research laboratories and application development centers across the globe to work on solutions that addresses the critical needs of customers and partners. The real-time collaboration that is made possible at the center, between our scientists and customers, means innovative solutions and increased speed to market for consumers,” added DuPont Thailand Innovation Center Manager Suntaree Taratikun.
DuPont strives to partner with growth-oriented Thai companies on solutions that fuel local collaboration and application development and engage customers and partners in inclusive innovation — wherever they are in the world. DuPont opened the first two Innovation Centers in Asia Pacific in June 2011; one in Korea, servicing the electronics and automotive industries, and another in Taiwan, focusing on the electronics and communications markets. Other Centers in Latin America, Europe and North America are in the planning pipeline.
