Low fares leader Jetstar is continuing its ‘give back’ support of Thai communities and underprivileged children with its visit and delivery of donations to Wat Nicrotaram school, Chachengsao.
Jetstar crew members joined children at the school and provided school materials including tables, chairs, desks and two learning centres.
Jetstar remains committed to supporting specific projects in Thailand that positively impact the lives of families living in poverty and giving children a better future.
In addition to ongoing staff initiatives, in 2007 Jetstar established the StarKids Program in partnership with World Vision, whereby passengers are encouraged to donate to World Vision projects which improve the lives of children in some of the region’s poorest communities, including in Thailand. Many Jetstar employees also donate directly through a direct Work Place Giving program. Starkids gives Jetstar staff the opportunity to contribute towards the sustainability of the communities in many of the countries where Jetstar staff live and work.
Community-based initiatives that StarKids has already contributed to include a project to protect street children in Pattaya, Thailand, and another addressing food, nutrition and livelihoods for vulnerable children in Cambodia.
