EXIM Thailand Appoints Mizuho as Lead Manager for 150-Million-USD FRNs

Bangkok--31 Aug--EXIM Thailand EXIM Thailand appointed Mizuho Securities Asia Limited as the lead manager for the sale of USD Floating Rate Notes (FRNs) worth 150 million US dollars to raise fund for the Bank’s business expansion in 2011. Mr. Kanit Sukonthaman, President of Export-Import Bank of Thailand (EXIM Thailand), and Mr. Tomohiro Watanabe, Deputy Head of Investment Banking Group, Head of International Coverage, Mizuho Securities Company Limited (Mizuho), recently signed an agreement to appoint Mizuho as the lead manager of EXIM Thailand’s USD-denominated floating rate notes (FRNs) sale at EXIM Thailand’s Head Office. This offering consisted of 3-year FRNs worth 75 million US dollars and 4-year FRNs worth 75 million US dollars. EXIM Thailand’s President said that the FRNs were issued in 2 tranches, 75 million US dollars with 3 year tenor maturing in 2014 and 75 million US dollars with 4 year tenor maturing in 2015, with an aim to raise fund for the Bank’s business expansion in 2011. Both issues were fully subscribed, reflecting the confidence foreign investors placed in EXIM Thailand despite prevailing uncertainties in the US and EU financial markets.
