Bangkok--12 Sep--
The organising and advisory committees of CONSTECH 2011 chaired by Mr. Polpat Karnasuta have decided to postpone CONSTECH 2011 to be now held from 19th to 21st September 2012 in Bangkok, Thailand.
The decision to go ahead with the rebranding of CONSTECH was taken only in the 1st quarter of this year and given the short lead time to prepare for the event, the industry felt that it makes sense to move the event to September 2012 instead of this year.
The decision to postpone the event was based on consultations with both local and international key exhibitors who wanted longer lead time to prepare for the exhibition. Messe Munchen GmbH, the international partner of CONSTECH and organiser of BAUMA also feedback that most international exhibitors do not have time to ship their exhibits in time for this year’s exhibition and prefer that CONSTECH be postponed to 2012 so that they could participate in a bigger way by showcasing their latest machinery and equipment.
The postponement will also allow the organisers to develop a more comprehensive industry conference and workshop programme to be run alongside the exhibition featuring critical topics, issues, case studies, strategies, best practices and trends and technology changes facing the construction machinery and equipment industry today.
Mr. Polpat Karnasuta, who is also the President of the Thai Contractor Association, said “CONSTECH is being repositioned as an international exhibition and conference dedicated exclusively to construction machinery, equipment and technology. This event is also an annual industry gathering place for industry experts and construction professionals to network, exchange views and update themselves on the latest industry trends and technologies. As such, if postponement of the event can help us achieve our objectives, we will do so.”
Exhibitors that have already confirmed their participation for this year also welcome the decision to postpone it to next year. Mr. Sompoch Rattana Areeyagon, the Deputy Managing Director of SINO-THAI INTERTRADE Company Limited said “The postponement of CONSTECH to next year will give us more time to prepare our participation so that we can better target our market segment.”
Mr Loy Joon How, General Manager of IMPACT Exhibition Management Co Ltd, the manager of CONSTECH said “We are very grateful for the decision of leading international companies who already have applied for participation in CONSTECH, and see it as an endorsement of the show's concept”.
Apart from the changes in dates, the concept of CONSTECH remains the same. Sponsored by the Thai Contractor Association, the event will be managed by IMPACT Exhibition Management Co Ltd in strategic cooperation with its international partner, Messe Munchen GmbH — the organiser of BAUMA, the world’s most successful and largest construction machinery exhibition brand.
With contributions from its advisory and organising committees, CONSTECH will be an exhibition “organised by the industry for the industry” dedicated to support Thailand’s construction machinery, equipment and technology industry and market. The event will serve as the key “face to face” market place for over 300 exhibitors and suppliers to showcase their latest machinery, equipment, tools and methods to over 3,500 targeted key decision makers and trade buyers from the entire spectrum of the construction industry and market.
