Philips Electronics (Thailand) Ltd’s Lighting Sector is launching a new campaign under an inspiring theme “See what light can do” to inspire consumers on how lighting can enhance the living experience at home. Through a range of creative online platforms with home design communities and “Philips Home Lighting Centre” the first and largest flagship store in Thailand and Asia. Philips aims to encourage people to re-imagine their home interiors with new lighting and enhance the way they can interact virtually and actively before making a purchase decision.
Mr. Thanakorn Wongwises, Director of Sales, Lighting Sector, Philips Electronics (Thailand) Ltd., said that “See what light can do” is the latest Philips’ global campaign. It is about putting lighting design on the agenda of every home owner. Lighting is no longer just about flicking on or off a switch. With the new innovation in lighting including LED technology, consumers have more control over their lighting, helping consumers to tailor each room and set the right ambience and enhance their home space with light.
Inspiring with Philips light experiences
Philips launches a new interactive online platform to get the most out of light and the impact from lighting toward their home environment via www.philips.co.th/seewhatlightcando, a brand new online medium as source of inspiration, dedicated to show what light can do. One of the main features is the Lightover VDOs, aiming to give an idea for home decorator to make over their home room by using light.
Another exciting feature of this website is an interactive Philips 3D Home Lighting Designer tool (which can link from www.philips.co.th/seewhatlightcando) which allows consumers, both end-users and specifiers like architects and interior designers to explore lighting following their imagination. They can now visualize how different light sources can impact the atmosphere in any rooms at their finger tips. The platform provides inspiration in a rich gallery of scenes and lets consumer step into lighting scenarios created by lighting and design experts, yourself and other users.
Mr.Thanakorn said “Philips is the first to provide this breakthrough online platforms to allow consumers to experience what light can do and the 3D designer of lighting before making the decision and our target consumer groups including general consumers, interior designers and lighting designers who frequently use online media as one of the main tools for searching information and communication. These tools will help us to directly communicate with our target consumers.”
Philips Innovative lighting products introduced
Apart from the online platform, Philips introduces new ranges of innovative lighting products, with the main highlight is LED technology, to fit consumer’s lifestyle, suit the function, mood or atmosphere.
Hi-light products includes
-Philips Living Colors Gen II generating around 16 million colors from intuitive remote control enabling consumers to adjust speed of automatic color changing.
-Philips Ledino range, the introduction of a fabulous range of LED-based products that can change the way of home creative ambient with cool white light, or used as a task lighting for reading room, or for an accent lighting to add glamour to a space. The latest Ledino allows consumers to choose preferred light color from warm white to cool white at installation using a tool that is included in the packaging.
-Philips LED retrofit offers energy saving, up to 80% to consumers by simply replacing the existing lamps. Its lifetime long lasts for 5 years (based on 25,000 hrs of bulb lifetime with 10 hours usage per day).
- An innovative Philips Remote Control Energy Saving Lamps “LivingWhites” allows consumers wireless control of light from a convenient remote. Simply change the existing Lamps with LivingWhites to enjoy complete control of 50 light spots and easily set three lighting scenes.
Opening of “Philips Home Lighting Centre” Flagship Store at Lighting Gallery, Boontavorn Ratchada
To further enrich the real experience, Philips announced the opening of its first and largest flagship store in Asia. The new Philips’ Home Lighting Center is located on the 5th floor of the Lighting Gallery at Boonthavorn Ratchada. The 280-sq.m. outlet is designed based on a concept of "Home Lighting Experience", where customers can get inspired, educated, and engaged with various lighting sources and difference in lighting atmospheres. They can pick up various tips on how to design ideal lighting for home, improving living experience and well-being at home.
This center is a part of Philips’ new direction to differentiate itself from other typical lighting and luminaire stores. A dedicated section for lighting demonstration is set to let consumer experience real lighting performance. The center is also aim to improve the consumer shopping experience in choosing lighting products for different areas of their home, either indoor or outdoor. The store carries products for living room, dining room, kids’ room, bathroom, and even outdoor garden.

With these smart yet simple sources of inspiration — and innovative Philips lamps and luminaires — ideas for playing with light in new ways are abundant.
