Bangkok--26 Sep--InterfaceFLOR InterfaceFLOR’s carpet tile manufacturing plant in Chonburi which won Thailand’s first LEED accreditation had recently received 3 additional environmental recognitions, confirming its position as the green factory model. This year InterfaceFLOR Thailand earned the Thailand Greenhouse Gas management Organization’s (TGO) Carbon Reduction Label for all InterfaceFLOR carpets which contain over 40% recycled materials in Glasbac? and Glasbac?RE backing. The backing is not only environmentally friendly, but it also enhances the quality and durability of the products. For the same reason, all products manufactured from this factory had been upgraded to Gold level on NSF-140 International standard from American National Standard for Sustainability. During the same period, all of the carpets manufactured at this plant were awarded with Singapore Green Label for Products by the Singapore Environment Council which is widely known for its very high criterion scheme that covers every detail of the production, from carpet and backing, adhesive, VOC emission level, down to the recyclability of the product after it expires. “Meanwhile we are also in the last stage of approval for Carbon Reduction Certification for Buildings from TGO, Thai Environment Institute, and Thailand Business Council for Sustainable Development, which we expect to be certified before the end of the year, together with PTT, PTT Chemical and EGAT” said Mr Sangob Auloong, Vice President Operations Thailand. “InterfaceFLOR has always been recognized as one of the world’s most environmentally progressive companies. We always share our knowledge and expertise with other companies and organizations. As the result of being green, our carpets are not only good for the environment but they also enhance better interior air quality, product quality and durability. They are designed to please the eyes as much as to minimize waste during installation. Many businesses chose our products based on quality and design, while adding extra credits toward their green certification goals.” Mr Sangob added. InterfaceFLOR manufacturing plant in Chonburi operates its business in accordance to the American Head Quarter’s commitment to be the first industrial business that leaves zero footprint by the year 2020. Mission Zero also unites the Interface companies in its commitment to consider the environmental impact of every creative, manufacturing and building decision it makes.
