In partnership with YBM, the first location opens inside Seoul’s Young Poong Bookstore
Turner International Asia Pacific Inc and YBM Education, South Korea’s largest English education institution, today announced the launch of the world’s first CNN-branded “CNN Caf?” in Seoul, South Korea. The CNN Caf? is located inside the Jongno branch of the Young Poong Bookstore.
The CNN Caf? is a new caf? concept that serves coffee and light snacks within an environment featuring CNN content across different platforms, including a live feed of the CNN International channel on a large screen, the latest CNN news wires on a digital ticker and computer terminals featuring cnn.com and cnngo.com. The caf? seeks to attract the growing number of the self-employed and students who study at coffee shops, while the new concept 'coffice' (coffee-office) also offers free wifi, computers and printing services.
The CNN Caf? further aims to provide a space that offers a modern yet comfortable feel for caf? patrons, as well as a chance for locals to learn English using YBM’s various study-oriented features, including free study abroad consultations, language consultations and TOEIC test registrations provided by YBM instructors at set times at the caf?.
"CNN Caf? is not just another coffee shop, but an information hub for locals to get the latest international news from CNN, as well as a chance to learn English in a more comfortable, relaxed environment," said Ron Lee, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Turner Entertainment Networks Korea.
“Leveraging our 50 years of experience in foreign language education, the new CNN Caf? marks a new dimension in learning English in partnership with the most trusted name in international news.” said Young Chung, President of YBM Education.
More locations are set to open throughout Seoul and across South Korea.
