Department of Export Promotion, Ministry of Commerce is presenting the Export Logistics Model Award 2011 (ELMA 2011) to the top firms who excel logistics management, leveling Thai logistics industry to pursue international standard.
Department of Export Promotion — Logistics Unit, Ministry of Commerce is organizing the presentment of Export Logistics Model Award 2011 (ELMA 2011), one of the most prestigious awards for exporter and logistics service providers, as part of Thailand International Logistics Fair 2011 (TILOG 2011) on September, 22, 2011 at Bitec Bangna. The award will be presented by the honorary president of the program.
Mrs. Nantawan Sakuntanak, Director-General of the Department of Export Promotion revealed the success of this fifth year of the program, Export Logistics Model Award 2011 (ELMA 2011) as it has been bracing the awareness in logistics performance excellence amongst businesses, while helping enhancement of management capability, which has been the key strategic focus of the Government and Ministry of Commerce in order to drive improvement in logistics performance in the nation.
This year, ELMA 2011 has been upraised by Department of Export Promotion by refining the standard evaluation frameworks used in the past in accordance with the international ones, namely Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award (MBNQA) and Supply Chain Operation Reference (SCOR) model, whereas both have altogether been prototyping the performance evaluation criterion in many leading countries such as European Quality Award (EQA) and Japan Quality Award (JQA) . Therefore this year’s ELMA 2011 is recognized of its heighten value to meet international standard.
After thoroughly comprehensive evaluation process using combination of 7 key factors (business mission and leadership, strategic planning in logistics, market and customer management, ICT applications in logistics, human resources management, logistics process and operation management, and key results from logistics), finally 12 honorary judges have selected 3 winners of this year ELMA 2011, which are:-
- ELMA for Large Integrated Logistics Service Provider
The winner is SCG Logistics Management Co., Ltd.
- ELMA for Small and Medium Integrated Logistics Service Provider
The winner is Hazchem Logistics Management Co., Ltd.
- ELMA for Warehousing and Storage Solutions Provider
The winner is JWD InfoLogistics Co., Ltd.
