Austria’s Universitaet Klagenfurt signs MoU

Bangkok--6 Oct--Asian Institute of Technology Austria’s Universitaet Klagenfurt (Alpen-Adria-Universit?t Klagenfurt) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) to enable cooperation in academic, research and professional development programs. The agreement between Alpen-Adria-Universit?t Klagenfurt and AIT was formalized at a signing ceremony held on 30 September 2011. Signing the MoU with AIT President Prof. Said Irandoust, Prof. Hubert Lengauer, Vice-Rector for International Relations and Studies, said his university was pleased to establish a formal partnership with AIT. Prof. Lengauer was accompanied on the visit by Prof. Ralph Grossmann, Professor of Oganizational Development. Also representing AIT at the signing ceremony was the Director of AIT Vietnam (AIT-VN), Dr. Amrit Bart. The head of the External Relations and Communications Office (ERCO), Dr. Pritam Krishna Shrestha witnessed the signing. Both parties said the agreement opens the door for exchange of students in specific programs, cooperation in a Doctoral program related to the field of organizational development, and cooperative research work related to innovation and sustainability, such as in “Responsible Leadership”. The visiting Universitaet Klagenfurt officials expressed interest to offer tailor-made programs jointly with AIT to support the success of companies and public sector institutions in Asia. The MoU offers the possibility of partnership for the development of Management Development Programs, specifically a program in Management in the Educational Sector, officials said.
