Recently at Lotte Hotel, South Korea, Mr. Songpol Chevapanyaroj (left), KASIKORNBANK’s Corporate and SME Products Division Head, Mr. Wan-Sun Hong (center), Deputy President of Hana Bank, a leading bank in Korea, and Mr. Peng-Meng Ling (right), Managing Director - Regional Head of Capital Markets, South East Asia, Standard Chartered Bank (Thai) signed an agreement appointing KBank and Standard Chartered as the arrangers of Baht-denominated debentures of Hana Bank. The first issuance of the Korean bank in Thailand totals 8 billion Baht, the highest amount that has been permitted by the Ministry of Finance.
Following the conclusion of business partnership agreement with KBank in Bangkok last August, this debenture issuance is the first cooperation between the two parties. Hana Bank is the fourth largest bank in South Korea in terms of assets, and ranks the 191st bank of the world. The Korean bank’s outlet network includes 660 branches with 4,300 ATMs nationwide.
