ING Life Limited has helped its life insurance customers, who have suffered from flooding, by extending the deadline for payment of insurance policy premiums, exempting renewed interest and fees for issuing of new policies. The company has also provided boats and other necessary items to the Ayutthaya Red Cross, which will distribute them to flood victims in the affected areas.
Mr. Ignacio Aguilar, CEO of ING Life Limited, said that the floods have occurred in many areas of Thailand and people are suffering severely from flooding at their homes and workplaces, and this has affected their lives and caused damage to their property. Therefore, the company has implemented a policy to assist customers who are facing the floods as follows:
- Extending the period for premium payments for insurance policies from 31 days to 91 days, starting from the payment deadline. Throughout the extended periods, the policies are still effective.
- The company will exempt the renewed interest for policy renewals for customers suffering from floods. Customers should apply for policy renewal within 6 months, starting from the day the policies expire.
- ING Life will exempt fees for the issuing of new policies to replace the existing damaged or lost policies and customers should submit requests for the issuing of new policies.
Mr. Ignacio Aguilar said Ayutthaya and Nakhon Sawan are provinces that have been the worst hit by floods and the ING Life branches in the 2 province have been heavily damaged, to the point that they are unable to serve their customers. The company announced that the two branches will stop services from October 12 to 16, 2011. Customers who want to contact the company, please contact the customer service center at Tel 0-2632-6000 from Monday to Friday from 08:00-20:00 hrs and from 09:00-20:00 hrs on Saturday, Sunday and government holidays.
“ING Life sympathizes with all the Thai people who have been affected by the floods. We are willing to do whatever the company can do to help. Last week, ING Life delivered 5 boats with food and other necessary items to the President of the Red Cross in Ayutthaya to be distributed to the victims. We have also distributed survival kits to ING Life customers through our sales agents and we hope that this will help provide some relief to those who are suffering,” said Mr. Aguilar.
