ING Life Limited Issues Measures To Help Its Staff, Agents and Their Families Who Are Suffering From Flooding

Bangkok--26 Oct--Aziam Burson-Marsteller ING Life Limited has undertaken measures to help its staff, agents and their families who are suffering from the current flooding by arranging temporarily shelters and allocating 5,000 baht for each of them as well as providing a leave of absence without it counting toward their regular normal holiday allowance. Mr. Ignacio Aguilar, CEO, ING Life Limited, reported that the heavy flooding in many provinces, including Bangkok and its vicinity, has resulted in suffering for a great number of ING Life staff and agents as well as their families. Therefore, the company has undertaken the following measures to aid the effected personnel: For staff and agents residing at the flooded areas or areas at risk of flood, the company has arranged temporary shelters, including sleeping kits, food and beverages for their temporary stay at the head office, which is the Sinthorn Building, Witthayu Road. For agents, temporary shelter is available the Ratchadapisek branch office on Ratchadapisek Road. ING Life is also allowing them to bring members of their families. The company has allocated financial assistance of THB 5,000 for each of its staff. After the situation returns to normal, the company will allocate special financial aid to staff, along with special loans to help them repair their homes. In case the staff’s parents are sick due to the flood, the company will be responsible for the elder care center expenses where their parents are treated. In case of the death of a parent due to the flood, the company will be responsible for the transportation of the remains to the site where religious rites will be performed. For staff who are impacted by floods at home, or if they are in an area at risk of flooding, the company is permitting them to take a special leave of absence, which will not be counted as a regular leave of absence. The company also will pay the impacted staff their salaries early. Mr. Aguilar said the number of staff and agents who are currently suffering from floods are about 50 persons, whom the company is ready to fully assist as all staff and agents are considered members of the ING Life family. In addition to assistance given to staff and agents, ING Life Limited earlier helped its customers by extending the period for premium payment, exempting the renewal fee and fee for issuing a new policy, adding to the survival kits provided to customers by company agents and donating various items through the Thai Red Cross Society in Ayutthaya, plus making a financial donation through the Channel 3 family. Mr. Aguilar said that “the company hopes that everyone is able to get through this difficult situation. ING Life is ready to do anything it can to help those who are impacted by these floods.”
