Bangkok--27 Oct--DHL
DHL, the world’s leading logistics company, was accorded the World Customs Organization Award 2011 under the Customs Knowledge Management category. Looked upon as the model operator, the award recognizes DHL Express Thailand for its expertise in executing electronic customs clearance of both inbound and outbound Express shipments. The award adds to the company’s growing list of domestics and international accolades.
Drawing from its extensive knowledge and expertise in customs management, DHL Express Thailand is the only private company nominated by the Thai Customs Department to take part in the World Customs Organization Award 2011. Sharing the glory of winning the award are two other prominent local government associations namely the Thai License Customs Broker Association and Thai Chamber of Commerce and Board of Trade of Thailand.
Chananyarak Phetcharat, Managing Director, DHL Express Thailand and Indochina said, “I would like to congratulate the Customs & Regulatory Affairs team and kudos to all the personnel involved for their continued professionalism and passion towards the job. This is the first time wining this prestigious award and the news is definitely a booster for the team. It is a strong endorsement by the authority and further reinforces our position as International Specialist in the Express industry. At DHL, it is our service commitment to consistently deliver excellent service to our customers by ensuring timely delivery of their shipments. This cannot be achieved without a good understanding of the local and global customs regulatory requirements.”
During the nomination period, DHL Express presented a strong case study showcasing its knowledge and performance in managing customs clearance as well as its commitment towards employee training and development. These initiatives are aligned with the World Customs Organization’s priorities for 2011.
“We have developed a series of comprehensive customs and regulatory affairs training programmes to ensure that our employees are kept updated on new regulations in each market. Equipped with the knowledge, the team is then empowered to respond appropriately to the situation to ensure that we continue to operate efficiently and effectively,” added Chananyarak.
