MasterCard today donated 1.6 million baht to Thai Red Cross Society as part of MasterCard’s initiative to aid flood relief efforts in Thailand. Gregg Hirano, vice president and country manager for Thailand, MasterCard Worldwide, presented the donation to Lt. Gen. Dr. Amnat Barlee — Director of Relief and Community Health Bureau, a representative from Thai Red Cross Society. In addition, MasterCard is waiving interchange fees for all donations to Thailand-based charities made on MasterCard cards issued in Thailand, from Nov 4, 2011 to Feb 4, 2012.
