Bangkok--10 Nov--SET The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) encourages investment by joining in the Money Expo for Chiangmai on November 18-20, to educate and inform the public about investment options. The SET will introduce its "Investor Zone" under the concept of "Opening the senses to new investment options" with eight brokerages and gold futures brokers joining hands to advise on investment diversification using financial products such as stocks, derivatives, gold futures and mutual funds with efficiency. "People are now seeking investment alternatives to increase their returns, so knowledge about their choices how to access these instruments are greatly necessary for investors. The event in Chiangmai will focus on providing such knowledge, enabling participants to diversify their savings. We also provide SET Easy Investment Guide service and online trading to facilitate investors," said SET Chief Marketing Officer Pakorn Peetathawatchai. Chiangmai is the leading province in Thailand's north in terms of savings and investment, with average securities trading volume of THB 11.41 billion (approx. USD 370 million) per month during January-September, 2011. That represents 52 percent of the northern region’s trading volume. There are 17 brokerage firms with 23 branches in the province, Pakorn added. Visitors to Money Expo Chiangmai 2011 will be introduced to online investment and find out about the "Six Recommended Stock Recipes" which are top-pick stocks, stocks with low P/Es and good performance, consistently high dividends, foreign investors’ top picks, analysts’ top picks, and property stocks. Visitors can also obtain derivatives guides and "stock best pick" lists. The Money Expo rotates to major cities nationwide; the Chiangmai event is the last this year, after Songkhla, Bangkok and Korat. The Chiangmai activity will be held in the Chiangmai Hall, CentralPlaza Chiangmai. For more information, please visit www.set.or.th, or call S-E-T Call Center at 0-2229-2222
