TESCO LOTUS ANNOUNCES CHARITY CONCERTS IN AID OF FLOOD VICTIMS

Bangkok--14 Nov--Ek-Chai Distribution System Three Tesco Lotus stores to host Koh Mr Saxman & The Saxsociety Tesco Lotus has announced that three of its store in Bangkok will play host to Koh Mr Saxman and the Saxsociety, who will be headlining concerts to raise money for flood victims. The concerts, which are free to attend, will take place at Rama IV store on Monday 14th November from 5-7pm, at Plus Srinakarin on Sunday 27th November from 4-6pm and at Plus Amata Nakorn on Monday 28th November from 5-6pm. Donations will be requested from concert goers, with the money raised going towards supporting people in shelters around the country. Tesco Lotus’ Senior Community Manager, Charkrit Direkwattanachai said: “The three concerts will give our customer and staff an opportunity to enjoy some fantastic music from Koh Mr Saxman and the Saxsociety, whilst contributing to a really worthy cause. We encourage as many people to attend as possible. These concerts are just one of a large number of initiatives we at Tesco Lotus have undertaken to support our communities at this difficult time and we will continue to work tirelessly to provide support and aid to flood victims across the country”. The company announced that it has made its own contributed of over 23 million baht worth of essential products to the flood relief effort, helping communities in 40 provinces nationwide. Alongside this it has set up Tesco Lotus kitchens to distribute food to 6,000 victims and made a donation of 9 rescue boats to the Thai army to help with flood relief efforts, along with 12 floating toilets. As part of the company’s ‘One Million Hours’ volunteering initiative, staff have also given their time to pack relief bags and distribute these to victims, with over 500,000 hours being given to date. In addition, Tesco Lotus collected dry foods and essential products through its in store product donation campaign which has recently finished, as well as 2 million baht for the Red Cross through in store donation boxes.
