Bangkok--14 Nov--Spark Communications 2012 guide to explore economy’s resilience as manufacturing and tourism lead growth Left: Paul Ashburn (Senior Partner), Ann? Schlagel (OBG Country Director), Andrew Jackomos (Senior Partner) Oxford Business Group (OBG), the global publishing, research and consultancy company, has sealed a third year of partnership with the accounting and advisory firm BDO for its forthcoming report on Thailand’s economy. BDO, which has contributed to both of OBG’s previous publications on the country’s economic activity and investment opportunities, will team up with the Group to produce the Tax Chapter of The Report: Thailand 2012. As part of the partnership, BDO will work closely with OBG’s editorial and research team to provide coverage of key issues on Thailand’s tax environment and how changes to legislation and regulations could affect investors. BDO is one of Thailand’s major advisory firms, offering tax, audit and assurance, accounting, management consulting and corporate services. It is a member firm of the global public accounting firm BDO International, which has offices in more than 100 countries. OBG’s Country Director Ann? Schlagel said that work on the Group’s 2012 publication came as Thailand’s economic recovery looked to be well on track. “Thailand has long enjoyed a reputation as a choice destination among business leaders and its hallmark resilient economy has helped it to maintain investor confidence during a challenging period,” she said. “I look forward to documenting Thailand’s latest efforts to drive growth in key sectors such as manufacturing and tourism as the country gears up to play an active part in the expected global recovery.” Schlagel also welcomed BDO on board, saying it had made a valuable contribution to OBG’s previous publications by mapping out the changes to Thailand’s tax and regulatory framework in line with the country’s economic development. “Our research and editorial team have built up an excellent working relationship with BDO over the past three years which has benefited our country reports,” she said. “Its experts will once again share their in-depth knowledge of Thailand’s changing business scene with us, bringing an added dimension to our 2012 publication.” Senior Partner at BDO Paul Ashburn added that OBG’s publications on Thailand had played an important role in providing international decision-makers with accurate and up-to-date business data at a time when the country’s bid to diversify its economy was gathering pace. “Oxford Business Group is known to be a market leader on emerging economies and its previous reports on Thailand have proved to be a valuable source of reference for our clients,” he said. “As an exclusive partner of the Group, we are delighted to be collaborating with its team once again and feel certain that The Report Thailand 2012 will raise the standards even higher by providing investors with unequalled insight into the country’s economic activity.” The Report: Thailand 2012 will be produced in partnership with the Thailand Board of Investment. Contributions will also be made by Tilleke & Gibbins and Thanachart Securities. The Report will be a vital guide to the many facets of the country, including its macroeconomics, infrastructure, banking and other sectoral developments. It will include a detailed, sector-by-sector guide for foreign investors, alongside a wide range of interviews with the most prominent political, economic and business leaders. The Report: Thailand 2012 will be available in print or online.
