Horti ASIA 2012, the premiere technological and innovative exhibition platform for horticulture, vegetables, fruits, flowers of ASEAN in Thailand, designates special location to form Horti Flood Relief Clinic by cooperating with related government and private sectors for providing information on sustainable flood management to affected farmers.
Ladda Mongkolchaivivat, General Manager, N.C.C Exhibition Organizer Co., Ltd. or NEO shared that Thailand is now facing the most devastating flood in 50 years and it impacts overall country’s economy, especially agricultural sector which is the key industry of Thailand. As the organizer of Horti ASIA 2012, we decided to allocate part of the event in May next year for special activities called “Horti Flood Relief Clinic” on over 300-square meter area so as to help farmers to handle flood effectively in the future.
“The additional space; Horti Flood Relief Clinic will focus on sharing information and knowledge to farmers about how to handle and to understand flood in the future. The activities include demonstration of efficient farm management to prevent or relieve flooding situations such as water management, waterway management, farm drainage design and management, wastewater treatment, waste management, and sustainable farm maintenance. Moreover, the event will provide special sections for related sellers and distributors of water pumps, water diverters, waste burners. Key objectives are to provide farmers possible options of economical and quality products and to encourage financial institutions to launch 0% interest-free campaign over a period of 10-month for those farmers in need” said Mrs. Ladda.
We look forward to inviting relevant organizations which are Office of Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion (OSMEP), Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives (BAAC), Board of Investment (BOI), Department of Export Promotion, and related associations and departments. Horti ASIA 2012 will be held during 9-11 May 2012 at Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre (BITEC)
