Honda, Thailand’s motorcycle market leader, joins forces with its business partners to offer free maintenance service in its “Honda Cares for Flood Victims” after the flood recedes in six provinces in the Central region, starting on November 15.
The service will be the replacement of lubricant oil, gear oil, spark plugs, air filter, as well as engine check-up and maintenance. The partners; which are Honda dealers, Ministry of Education's Office of Vocational Education Commission (OVEC), Ministry of Interior's Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM), will visit Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Singburi, Ang Thong, Lop Buri, and Ayutthaya respectively. The service expects to receive a positive response from Honda customers and revive the damaged motorcycles for the people to return to their normal lifestyle soonest.
“Free service caravan service is a part of “Honda Cares for Flood Victims” is a cooperation between AP Honda, Thai Honda Manufacturing, Honda dealers, and the public sector like the OVEC. The caravan is comprised of 72 technicians from the participating organizations who will provide free maintenance service to the motorcycle owners whose vehicles have been damaged by the flood. The service starts from November 15 to 29, covering six provinces in the Central region. The service will also be considered for other flood-affected areas when the flood recedes until the situation returns to normal,” said Chiaki Kato, President of AP Honda Co Ltd.
The free service aims at reviving the motorcycles that have been damaged by the flood. The service includes the replacement of lubricant oil, gear oil, spark plugs, air filter, as well as engine check-up and maintenance. The technicians are experts from AP Honda, Thai Honda Manufacturing, Honda dealers, and well-trained staff from various vocational institutions.
The free service caravan is divided into two teams. The first will be visiting Uttayan Nakhon Sawan from November 15 to 17; Clock Tower in Uthai Thani from November 19 to 21; Fa Krob Klong, Singburi from November 23 to 25; and City Hall, Ang Thong from November 27 to 29. The second team will visit Si Nakhon, Nakhon Sawan from November 15 to 17; Wong Wian Sa Kaew, Lop Buri from November 19 to 21; Pridi Bridge, Muang, Ayutthaya from November 23 to 26; and in front of Somchai Motor Sale in Tha Rua, Ayutthaya from November 28 to 29. The service is being considered to serve other motorcycle owners in flood-affected areas when the flood recedes to help them to return to their normal lifestyle in no time.

“The “Honda Cares for Flood Victims” project providing free maintenance service does not only help relieve the situation for the flood victims, but also allow the vocational students to be trained with participating Honda service centres in each province. The students will learn and earn from the valuable first-hand experience. This will also campaign for road safety,” said Dr Chayapruk Serirak, Secretary-General of the OVEC.
Since the beginning of the flood, Honda and its dealers have helped the victims with life-relief packets, drinking water, tents, other necessities, and the free maintenance service to revive the damaged motorcycles. Honda Group in Thailand also recently donated Bt100 million to the Thai Red Cross Society. Under our “Honda Cares for the Flood Victims”, all aims to relieve the plight and help lower the expenses of the flood victims, as well as to help the rehabilitation once the flood recedes.
