With ongoing flood watch and distress of the last several weeks of widespread flooding, flood victims are still facing the daily challenges and are now bracing for the aftermath. With strong beliefs in taking care of associates and the spirit to serve, Marriott Thailand hotel and resorts have rallied out in several activities to continuously help the needed.
The JW Marriott Hotel Bangkok have provided liquid EM for flood affected associates in total of 1,050 bottles free of charge as well as the same efforts from Courtyard by Marriott Bangkok and Renaissance Bangkok Ratchaprasong Hotel who together helped produced EM Balls at Amarin Plaza under the organization of the Ratchaprasong Square Trade Association (RSTA). Fundraiser initiatives include the selling of t-shirts at the various properties and currently a funfair was organized to raise altogether over THB 85,000. Donations from associates especially support from Phuket properties such as JW Marriott Phuket Resort & Spa, Renaissance Phuket Resort & Spa and Courtyard by Marriott Phuket resorts have donated survival items such as money, dried food, water, candles, mosquito repellent, diapers, sanitary napkins and not to say the least, their own blood to the Phuket Red Cross and Thai Red Cross from Renaissance Bangkok Ratchaprasong Hotel for the physically injured flood victims.
An outing led by JW Marriott Hotel Bangkok in which over 30 Marriott associates went to a refugee center in the Chaengwattana district, served hot meals to about 4,000 impacted flood victims. The excellent culinary staff was on hand for the occasion, serving up noodle soup, steamed rice, boiled eggs, chili paste, and plenty of fresh water and juices, truly making a difference for the refugees who attended.
