Bangkok--28 Nov--Volvo Volvo Truck and Bus (Thailand) Co., Ltd., the sole authorized distributor and assembler of Volvo trucks and Volvo buses in Thailand, has announced its name change to be “Volvo Group (Thailand) Company Limited”, effective from December 1st, 2011, onwards. Mr. Christophe Martin, the President of Volvo Group (Thailand) Co., Ltd, stated that, “Volvo Group is the largest private company in Sweden and is one the main Swedish companies offering a comprehensive range of transport solutions to millions of customers in over 180 countries worldwide. We also create value for customers and pioneer products and services for the transport and infrastructure industries throughout the world.” “Our corporate values are defined in our business mission; “Quality, Safety, and Environment Care”. In practice, we are highly committed to honoring promises to our customers, business partners, staff members, as well as contributing to the society we belong to.” “The name change is in line with the fact that we have recently recorded remarkable business growth outside our West European and North American markets, and that it is the Volvo Group’s intention to strengthen our already impressive performance in Asia and in Thailand in particular. To reflect this business evolution and as a result of recent developments, we have decided to change our name from ‘Volvo Truck andBus (Thailand) Co., Ltd.’ to ‘Volvo Group (Thailand) Company Limited’.” added Mr. Martin. The company has operated in Thailand for over 20 years, and is now as determined as ever to further invest in the country to stand beside and admire the sustainable success of the Thai people in the future. We have recently made a substantial investment of over One Billion Baht in constructing our new automobile assembly plant to be operated under the name of Thai Swedish Assembly Co., Ltd. or TSA. Not only does this plant assemble Volvo trucks for the Thai market, but it also produces trucks for neighboring countries and cabs for other Asian countries, Australia and New Zealand. “Moreover, the company plans to expand its nationwide network of Volvo dealers. Over the next two years, ten more dealers are scheduled to open and our existing team of 500 staff members will be doubled, to serve our Thai customers even better.
