Bangkok--1 Dec--Grayling (Thailand) During times of hardship caused by the biggest flood of the century, Thai people are all under difficult circumstances. Despite the difficulties, a laudable aspect reflecting sacrifice, generosity, and charitable mindset of Thai people can always be seen. Electrolux Thailand realizes how distressed Thai people have been and, therefore, would like to be a part of the society to offer help and support as much as the company could. “Due to the severe flood, Thai people have been left in great suffering. Having run a business for almost a century under the Kingdom’s peacefulness, we consider ourselves as a member of Thai society and see its people as our family. We, therefore, would like to give a helping hand to every Thai with our expertise and financial support. Our company will provide free appliance checkup repair for any Electrolux products damaged by the flood, and will offer 50% reduction for spare parts fee. With regard to provinces in which the water level has started to get back to normal, our special team teaming up with representatives from Electrolux service centers will be allotted there to give free maintenance service for the locals. This project starts from now until 31 December 2011.” said Khun Sutti Manokitjarunman, General Manager of Electrolux Thailand “As regards Electrolux staff members, who are our brothers and sisters and whom we share the ups and downs with, the company has tried our best to share their distress and relieve their sorrow. Initially, Electrolux immediately granted 5,000 baht each to our staff members affected by the inundation. Also, we have provided our office at 15th floor to be used as a temporary dormitory for the staff who have to leave their homes. Facilities such as accommodation maintenance and electrical appliances for laundry are also provided. “Additionally, in order to lift up our staff members’ spirit and restore what they have lost in this historical flood crisis, I would like to turn crisis into opportunity by establishing a fund entitled “Extra Employee Enterprise” or 3 E in order to help our staffs during this calamity as well as for the future. Every Electrolux staff members can help support this fund by donating as much as they prefer depending on their financial condition and generosity. Also, this fund, commenced with my personal money in total of 100,000 baht, would be served as financial support for our staffs when a crisis or disaster affecting their well-being breaks out”, Khun Sutti added. “Moreover, Electrolux network from all over the world are ready to support this fund to the utmost. Besides, Electrolux headquarter will participate in donation by doubling the total amount of donated money derived from Electrolux staffs throughout the region, including Thailand.” “Until now, Electrolux Thailand has been carrying out several flood relief activities. Nevertheless, these events would never have happened without cooperation from the company’s executives, staff members, as well as assistance from Electrolux network all over the world. In addition, the company and more than 40 staff members has recently visited Flood Relief Operation Center at the Treasury Department, Chaeng Wattana Government Complex to distribute 500 survival bags and 100 packs of drinking water together with uncooked rice and dried food packed by Electrolux staff. The company also donated 20 washing machines and dryers, valued more than 500,000 baht, to relieve the difficulties and promote hygiene for the victims at Thammasat University Rangsit Campus’s Evacuation Center. Most recently, Electrolux Thailand hosted blood donation event at Electrolux office building.
