"Dong Feng Motors" reveals the new concept van "V Series" a-7-seater economical van, with hot campaign of low down payments and easy monthly installments in the Thailand Intenational Motor Expo 2011
Dong Feng Motors is revealing the new concept vehicle “V Series” a 7-seater van, in Thailand for the first time, and second worldwide after its initial launch in China, in the 28th Thailand International Motor Expo. The launch is Dong Feng’s latest effort to add more product lines to the market after nearly 3 years of exceptionally successful mini trucks and mini vans sales in Thailand’s small commercial vehicle market. With the V-Series van, Dong Feng expects to expand its customer base from the usual commercial target group to the larger passenger car target group. The spacious economical and energy conservative V-Series van is suitable for both businesses that transports personnels and household consumers with big families. Actual sales of V-Series is expected to start in the first quarter of 2012, with an expected standard retail price below 500,000 baht.
According to sales of small commercial vehicles under the previous name DFM and currently new name Dong Feng Motors in 2011, mini trucks and mini vans are becoming more popular in Thailand. Thai consumers nowadays are more interested in smaller vehicles, both personal and commercial, and prefer vehicles with alternative energy such as LPG and CNG. Dong Feng is specialized in providing such vehicles. For the first three quarters of 2011 alone, Dong Feng achieved over 2,000 units n sales, which was more than the entire annual sales in 2010. This trend will ensure that the total sales in 2011 shall reach the expected target of 3,000 units.
The Dong Feng 7-seater V series van is nicknamed the “SUV among all mini autos”, mainly for its strong and durable suspension and shock absorbers under the off-road vehicles concept. It is designed to accommodate passengers with front and rear air-conditionings; provide reliable driving performance with 1.3-litre engine, power steering, and have larger spacious body and more passenger room than any conventional small vehicles. The V-series van delivers great performance and provides many utilities, both personal and commercial, with low energy consumption and an affordable price.
