Bangkok--14 Dec--Ascot International School
After a non-school uniform day; an astounding Early Years' Art and sales exhibition; a sponsored silence and an incredible bake sale - in addition to extremely generous students’, parents' and staff donations - Ms. Gim Tassaneya the Thai Headmistress, was delighted to hand over a cheque of 125,626 Baht to Mr.Chanwit Tubsuphan, Director of the Office of the Private Education Commission and Mrs. Saowanee Panassorn, Director of the Policy and Planning Unit on 17 October 2011.
Continuing with that spirit of generosity and caring some of our dedicated Year 11 students joined a local charity at the airport to help bag up as many sand bags as possible for the whole day. After the main floods had started to recede and Ascot was able to open again, we organized for more students to join the Tanpan volunteer spirit team to help pack up food parcels to distribute to those still badly affected by the floods on 4 December 2011 at Arena Ten, Thonglor soi 10.
Community services are an important part of the School's Activities programme. Students gain access to a wide range of skills they need to develop into healthy, caring, and responsible adults.
