After its successful launch in 2010 when it received a warm welcome from the public and fashion industry alike, Star Creation’s third competition year is ready to set the world of inspired haute fashion alight with its dramatic display of emerging talent and their incredible, and hitherto unknown, designer collections. Star Creation 2012 aims to uncover fashion designers and present them with the opportunity to launch their fashion careers, grooming them into becoming tomorrow’s top fashion design leaders.
The competition features three categories of entrant; 16-19 year old fashion students, 20-35 year old fashion graduates, and 20-35 year old working adults from a relevant fashion design industry and who are earning in excess of 40,000 SGD as a result of their degree. There are three rounds of judging by industry practitioners and experts, after which the top 12 will be allowed to present their collections based on the “Fashion Without Frontiers” theme of final judging. Three top winners will emerge to claim a prize of 10,000 SGD (around 230,000 Baht) each, plus a 12-month internship with leading fashion retailer FJ Benjamin (Singapore), and most importantly, the chance to launch their own collections.
