The Shell Company of Thailand Limited is introducing the new Shell Helix lubricants that provide greater protection for petrol engines with API SN standard. The company also unveils new marketing directions to boost overall lubricant sales with improved new Shell Helix for 10% in 2012.
Mr. Emmanuel Mignot, General Manager of Lubricants Thailand, Philippines & Vietnam, describes the current Thailand’s lubricant market outlook as, “Thailand’s overall lubricant market was now reached a volume of about 360 million litres per annum (as reported by the Ministry of Energy for petrol commerce section 7). As the leader in lubricant technology, Shell continues to develop newly improved formula to better suit the demands of our customers and the market. Our Shell Helix, being the all-time outstanding product line, was first conceived in Shell’s world-class laboratory and extensively tested in the Formula One races before offering to consumers. Most recently, Shell has just achieved major improvements of our petrol engine lubricants of the fully synthetic Shell Helix Ultra and the semi-synthetic Shell Helix HX7. While better removing sludge from dirty engines, both new lubricants provide greater protection and performance from the engine starts until the next oil change.”
With the guaranteed performance superior than the current highest set of API SN standard, Thai consumers can be assured of the new Shell Helix premium quality. Thailand is one country selected to be among a few debut places of these new products, thanks to its being one of the ten largest markets of Shell Helix driven by both the product excellent quality and marketing schemes.
In the year 2012, after the launch of the newly improved Shell Helix, the supporting marketing strategies will make sure that the oils will become the first and reliable choices among the Thai consumers. It is forecasted that the sales of the new Shell Helix should grow by at least 10% in 2012 thanks to the new distribution channel and all-year-round promotions.
Shell is also offering special promotions in flood-afflicted provinces. Customers who purchase or change oil with Shell Helix Extra are entitled to a free complimentary torch and multi-tool set worth Bt1,050. Customers who purchase or change oil with Shell Helix HX7 will receive a free Bt350 emergency kit. Shell will also offer a free 1-litre DOT Shell brake fluid worth Bt195 for maximum road safety of Shell customers after the flooding situation. These special promotions are now available at all Shell stations with Proserv sign from today until January 31, 2012.
“Even with the improved quality and higher production costs, Shell still maintains the new Shell Helix at the previous retail prices. We want our customers to be able to use the upgraded Shell Helix with API SN standard and enjoy the excellent engine protection and performance without further burden. Customers can now enjoy our professional oil-changing service at no extra labour cost at our 370 petrol stations or purchase the new Shell Helix from more than 16,000 retail stores countrywide,” concludes Mr. Mignot.
