Bangkok--20 Dec--Arc Worldwide This season, the creative forces behind Wella Professionals Trend Vision have gone further than ever before in the quest to invite hairdressers into their world of innovation and inspiration. The Global Creative Directors, Eugene Souleiman for Care and Styling and Josh Wood for Color, have set the scene with the latest trends collection and are an exceptional act to follow. Each year the pioneering trend leaders at P&G Beauty and Grooming release the Color and Fashion Forecast which reveals the latest innovations in hair and beauty design. Wella Professionals then adapt four key looks for Trend Vision, the globally recognised hair and style platform which inspires the hairdressing industry. The 2012 portfolio of looks, as created by Eugene Souleiman and Josh Wood, represents four archetypal female personalities that have the essence of their being rooted in the world of the glitz and glamour of the stage. They are bold characters who command attention and create an unparalleled presence. Each personality has been transformed into a visionary style that belongs at the centre of every stage. Wella Professionals has provided the stage for the most creative hairdressers around the world to perform. Eugene Souleiman and Josh Wood mastermind the inspiration and theme for the Trend Vision trends to open up the channels of improvisation. There will most certainly be an encore... Grace: The Modern Muse Grace is our leading lady, poised, perfect and pure. The main inspiration for Grace is nature although there is nothing natural about this look. The radiance emanating from Grace is effortless and captivating. Grace glows from within and this glow is projected into her style and amplified. This trend is one of opulence and luxury and of bright shining stardom. Grace’s inner glow is a bright, warm, golden glow that captivates everyone she meets, “you can feel she’s in the room” says Josh Wood. She has a natural eye for elegance and quality. Grace’s presence is effortless, she is languid, refined and perpetually glamorous without even trying. Dominating the scene is done with graceful ease. For hair, this has been translated into an exceptionally premium finish with bright, glowing shine and a fluid, languid texture. Eugene says, “This look is very, very, expensive”, which reflects the luxury and opulence of Grace’s persona. The tone of the hair is pure and the shine creates an almost liquid effect. Color wise, the palette is soft and light with a warm glow radiating like a halo. The hair moves in unison, as one entity, languid, flowing and luxurious. Blaze: The Femme Fatale Blaze is the fiery diva that steals the show with her burning desire for attention. All eyes on Blaze, is just the way she likes it. If something is not to her liking, be it on stage or in her dressing room, Blaze is not afraid to throw a show-biz tantrum in order to get her own way, and it usually works. There are strong Latin influences running through Blaze’s veins which contribute to her hot temper and roaring passion. Blaze’s passion cascades into an overt sensuality that is recognised by all who meet her. Her energy is infectious and there is a playful side to this temperamental temptress. Blaze is naturally confident and shouts about it. She commands attention with her overwhelmingly smouldering presence. Blaze has a sparkle in her eyes which gives away her playful streak and bathes her in bold color like stage lighting. The Latin element to her persona gives her a masculine edge, with the fiery temper and bold body movements. This perfect contrast between androgyny and passion is the definition of Blaze whose mood will keep everyone guessing. For hair, this has been taken as a graphic statement style, oozing with excitement and experimenting with daring shapes. The style is abrupt and sharp with a high gloss finish that shouts ‘look at me’. Eugene Souleiman says, “I was into the idea of it being graphic and almost not feeling like hair”. For Blaze, a hair style is a way of commanding attention so the wilder and bolder the better. In terms of color, the tones are dark with a shine so strong that it reflects the light giving a sharp, hot feel. Bright colors also feature here, “The idea of black, grey and fuchsia is a very, very, strong statement” says Josh Wood. This flash of bright color maintains the playful streak of Blaze while the dark tones ensure a sultry demeanour. Celeste: The Free Spirit Celeste is the mysterious character who cannot be pinned down. Ethereal and otherworldly, Celeste weightlessly floats in and out of scenes with an air of pure perfection. Intrigue surrounds Celeste which makes her irresistible to watch. Her mystery is played up with a feeling of futurism which makes her all the more captivating. Celeste is the pioneer, the visionary into the unknown. She is almost alien with her airy presence revealing her as the pinnacle of perfection. Celeste plays the role of a modern-day heroine. She is head-strong yet lucid to retain her femininity. Celeste is a translucent entity, detached from the rest of the cast and set and stands alone as a figure of bright, shining wonder. Celeste is a heavenly creature from a world of lightness and purity, “Everything flows, nothing jars or disrupts the flow” says Eugene Souleiman. For hair, this has been translated into a perfectly structured gravity defying creation. Shine is very important for this trend as it creates the glistening, futuristic sense of Celeste. The style appears simplistic but the design is a carefully constructed work of art. There are no blurred edges, only crisp, sharp lines that show sleek perfection. The color palette for Celeste is translucent and cold without being uninviting, “crystal clear colors, amethyst, pale sapphire...” says Josh Wood. Roxy: The Scene Stealer Roxy is the natural centre of attention. No effort is needed for her as she glides around the stage with magnetic warmth, drawing the audience in and taking their breath away. Roxy always makes an entrance, she is the life and soul of every party and everyone wants to talk to her. The cast gravitate toward her and her bold, gregarious personality. Roxy has a strong style reminiscent of the 70’s, oozing retro glamour and colour. Roxy is a born extrovert, she loves being the centre of attention and knows that her sex appeal is sky high. Her demeanour is iconic and her movement purposeful, nothing stands in Roxy’s way. For hair, this is manifested into a bold and attention grabbing style that is not afraid of playing with size, shape and texture. The style is fun and daring but stays on the right side of seductive. Extreme is the theme in terms of width and texture, creating a strong statement. Eugene says, “The wonderful thing about this look is that it is very bold, very clear with what it’s trying to say”. The color palette is cool red, deep enough to make a statement but with an edge of sophistication and effortless glamour.
