During 5-20 January 2012, the Honda Pavilion on the Muang Thong Thani lakeside will showcase its vision in environmentally friendly innovation. Honda is committed to reduce CO2 emissions from every product around the world by 30% within the year 2020. This is in line with its new global environmental slogan “Blue Skies for Our Children”. Mr. Pitak Pruittisarikorn, Executive Vice President of Honda Automobile (Thailand) Co., Ltd., said that it was a great honor for Honda to be part of the BOI Fair 2011 as the event was held to specifically honor His Majesty and celebrate His auspicious 7th cycle birthday anniversary. Honda Thailand has embraced HM’s philosophy of sufficiency economy and environmental management in our business conduct and CSR activities, so as to foster sustainability alongside the growth of Honda and Thailand. With inspiration from HM’s kindness bestowed upon the land, the Honda Pavilion represents this via a large water curtain, which is the one and only such water curtain of this size in Thailand. It is eco-friendly and is used as the Pavilion’s walls to filter heat and bring in natural light. This, in turn, has reduced electricity usage in the Pavilion by 40%. On the business side, Honda is committed to developing innovation that contributes to improving people’s quality of life. This is reflected in Honda’s tagline “Dreams for a Better Living”. Therefore the pavilion translates the “Enjoy Honda” concept into a lively, yet minimalist, community of 2,000 m2. In this community, visitors will find a spectacular exhibition of Honda’s eco-friendly technology including: - Exhibition honoring HM’s dedication to the development of the country: This includes HM’s initiatives in environmental management, which Honda has implemented and made an integral part of our business conduct. Moreover, Honda also supports a wide range of HM’s initiatives to tackle water, waste, and energy issues. That is how our “The School Environmental Challenge Project to honor HM the King” has been implemented since 1999. - Green automotive technology: Experience Honda’s new car, motorcycle and power product models that will drive the world toward a greener environment and cleaner air for everyone. This includes Honda Brio, Honda Jazz Hybrid, Honda CR-Z Hybrid, and Honda motorcycles with fuel injection, Honda Gold Wing and Honda EV-Neo. - Honda Smart Home System: A concept of Honda’s technology that will make future living better. The Honda Smart Home System will control overall energy usage in the home. The system will enable us to produce and allocate energy use more efficiently and will help reduce CO2 emissions from households as well as vehicles. In addition, the system has the capability to generate power from various fuel sources, so as to be able to cope with a crisis or natural disaster. “Honda’s vision is to become a company that society wants to exist. We aim at reducing CO2 emissions by 30% from every product worldwide by 2020 when compared to 2000. We will continue to bring our best R&D to help people realize the joy and freedom of mobility while creating a Society Where People Can Enjoy Life,” Mr.Pitak said. “Our operation has been in Thailand for over 47 years and we greatly appreciate HM’s hard work and dedication. We also are grateful for the support and trust we have received from the Thai people, which have contributed to our growth and prosperity up to the present.
