BANGKOK--18 Jan--Sodexo Sodexo Thailand Ltd has acquired Global Lithotripsy Services (GLS) based in Bangkok. GLS is a medical services company specializing in Extracorporeal Shockwave Lithotripsy (ESWL). It is the largest Lithotripsy provider in the Southeast Asia/Pacific region and is used by over 100 urologists at 85 hospitals. The lithotripsy service provided by GLS is unique, operating as a partner with hospitals to give physicians and patients access to the best possible equipment and treatment protocols with minimal risk. The equipment can be fixed on site, transportable between sites or deployed inside a fully equipped mobile lithotripsy clinic, manned by trained specialists. Sodexo is confident the acquisition will pave the way for significantly increased business in the Healthcare Market.“Sodexo Thailand Ltd already has a strong presence in the healthcare sector but concentrated primarily in the Bangkok area. The acquisition of GLS gives us the opportunity to provide a wider range of value-added services to their 85 clients across the country. In addition, we are in a position to invest in what will become a specialist division of our company, combining the offer with our existing Clinical Technology Management capabilities. This can only strengthen our position as market leader” - Stuart Winters, CEO Sodexo Thailand“This is the right thing for GLS as I know Sodexo plans to invest and expand our services in the area of mammography and angiography where the market in Asia is growing. In addition, there is real commitment to our staffs’ wellbeing and development. I have committed to stay with the business for at least 12 months and facilitate the transition.” - Leigh Mummery, Global Lithotripsy ServicesAbout SodexoSodexo in Thailand Sodexo Thailand Ltd is the leading on-site services solutions company in Thailand with over 1,900 full- time employees.
