Best Western International (BWI) has started 2012 on a high, by achieving the highest TripAdvisor ranking of any hotel in the Japanese city of Sapporo.
BEST WESTERN Hotel Sapporo Nakajima Koen was rated by male guests as the 16th best hotel in Japan in 2011 on TripAdvisor’s Japanese website, www.tripadvisor.jp. By ranking higher than the JR Tower Hotel Nikko Sapporo (18th in Japan overall), the 16-storey BEST WESTERN Hotel Sapporo Nakajima Koen took top spot in the northern Japanese city.The achievement is all the more impressive given the fact that hotel is almost brand new. Despite only having opened its doors for the first time in 2010, BEST WESTERN Hotel Sapporo Nakajima Koen garnered the highest average guest rating for the 12-month period December 2010 to November 2011. With an average independent user rating of 4.5 out of five, this newcomer ranked higher than all of the well-established hotels, bed & breakfasts and ryokans in Sapporo.“The best endorsement any hotel can get is positive feedback from its guests, and to achieve the highest independent rating of any hotel in Sapporo is something we are very proud of,” said Glenn de Souza, BWI’s Vice President International Operations — Asia & the Middle East.“Since opening in less than two years ago, this hotel has surpassed all our expectations. Built in 2010, the 278-room BEST WESTERN Hotel Sapporo Nakajima Koen is located on the south side of Sapporo city centre, within walking distance of the central business district and Susukino entertainment area. All rooms measure at least 30m? and offer high-speed internet access, flat screen televisions and satellite channels. Hotel facilities include an on-site restaurant, massage services and a laundry.
Sapporo, on the northern island of Hokkaido, is home to more than 1.9 million people, making it the fifth largest city in Japan. TripAdvisor features original user-generated reviews and ratings of 144 hotels in Sapporo. BWI operates two hotels in the city; BEST WESTERN Hotel Sapporo Nakajima Koen and BEST WESTERN Hotel Fino Sapporo.
