PlayAct Academy of Performing Arts was founded on October 1, 2010. The PlayAct team saw the need for a fun lively school that could use the performing arts as a tool for personal achievement. The PlayAct concept was planned with a very special goal in mind, drama and the performing arts are seen as forms of entertainment only, yet the PlayAct team knows that by using the process of drama, natural benefits can be gained. The PlayAct team also knows that we learn the most when we forget we are learning. So the company name was chosen to reflect our style of tuition; learning how to act, sing and dance in a playful way.The PlayAct team understands that the performing arts are excellent ways of releasing the creative mind, increasing confidence and igniting imagination. Our courses are designed to maximise the potential for these goals to be realised. The traditional approach of learning drama, dance or singing is to learn each one separately but the PlayAct team wanted a more integrated approach, this will give students with no experience in the performing arts the perfect chance to try them out. PlayAct's combination courses use drama and theatre games as the glue that holds all the performing arts together.This provides the perfect way for beginner students who want to study for fun or more advanced students who wish to perfect their skills.PlayAct's purpose-built centre, in the heart of Bangkok, uses all of the state of the art equipment needed for quality performing arts teaching. The PlayAct team wants to create a place that supports a community of artists, a place for people to meet, share ideas and make friends. PlayAct wants to ensure that everyone feels just as comfortable outside the classroom as they are inside. Performing artists are natural friend makers. PlayAct is not an academy that will guarantee success or fame. Playact will not teach people to merely memorize songs, dance routines or plays. PlayAct will use the natural therapeutic process of the performing arts. PlayAct will help instill con_dence, creativity and imagination.
