Mr. Chaipat Khemaphiruk , Managing Director of Prachuap Port Co. Ltd.,or PPC, a member of SSI Group Companies, revealed that PPC has signed an agreement with Gottwald Port Technology GmbH for a purchase of two 100-ton mobile habour cranes worth EUR 6,580,000 or equivalent to 280 million Baht on 14 December 2011. PPC team recently visited Gottwald Port Technology GmbH’s manufacturing plant at Dusseldorf, Germany to inspect all parts of crane, which are now at the port ready to be shipped to Thailand. The shipment will take 45 days to arrive Prachuap Port in mid-March and will take another 45 days for the installation.“PPC Shore Crane Project” is aimed to enhance capability of transporting goods and materials, which can help reduce transportation cost from using larger vessels and accommodate business growth of SSI UK project. This project is expected to commence in April 2012.
