EBARA donates a million Yen to AIT

Bangkok--3 Feb--AIT EBARA Corporation have donated one million Yen to the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) to help AIT in its reconstruction and rebuilding efforts. The donation was made by a delegation of EBARA Corporation comprising of Mr. Kiyoshi Hirono, Executive General Manager; Mr. Katsufumi Nakano, Managing Director; and Ms. Kornkanok Naprasertjkul, Administrative and Office Manager at the AIT temporary office at Pacific Place Tower, Bangkok. Welcoming the delegation, the AIT President Prof. Said Irandoust thanked EBARA for the gesture. “AIT is thankful to its friends, and the Institute looks forward to a better post-flood future,” the President said. “We are thankful that our friends and partners are thinking about us, particularly in this time of crisis,” he added. Mr. Hirono remarked that the EBARA workshop in Navanakorn Industrial Promotion Zone in Pathumthani was also damaged, since it remained inundated under two meters of water for six weeks. He added that EBARA would be keen to collaborate with AIT and would seek its help when it expands its operations. Mr. Nakano stated that South-East Asia continues to be a very important region for EBARA, and described AIT as a valued partner. Dr. Jonathan Shaw, Executive Director, AIT Extension, stated that the AIT-EBARA partnership is over two decades old. “It is a strong and successful partnership, and we hope that it continues for a long time,”Dr. Shaw added. Others who participated in the meeting included Mr. Olivier Drean, Interim Head, External Relations and Communications Office (ERCO), and Mr. Tenzin Rabgyal, Senior Program Officer, ERCO.
