Chevron provided 30 million baht to Chaipattana Foundation for post flood relief efforts

Bangkok--7 Feb--Chevron Chevron Corporation continues its support to the restoration efforts in the flood-affected provinces in Thailand. George Kirkland, vice chairman of the board and executive vice president of Upstream and Gas of Chevron, represented the company in donating 30 million baht to Chaipattana Foundation, represented by Dr. Sumet Tantivejkul, secretary-general of the foundation. The donation will be used for a post-flood rehabilitation project which is collaboration between Chevron Thailand Exploration and Production, Ltd. and Chaipattana Foundation to help restoring damaged schools in Thailand. The project also aims to promote energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy among Thai students. Chevron volunteers will also participate in the restoration program throughout 2012. In November 2011, Chevron donated US$1 million (or approximately 30 million baht) to support the government agency’s response efforts related to flood relief activity providing shelter, food, water, sanitation and clothing to those affected.
