Bangkok--16 Feb--SET
The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) will hold its quarterly “Opportunity Day,” when top managements of listed companies meet directly with analysts and investors, on February 20 — March 30. This event will spotlight 102 firms with a combined market capitalization of THB 3.7 trillion (approx. USD 119.35 billion), marking a record high.
“There are ten companies joining the Opportunity Day for the first time, proving that firms are giving more emphasis to information disclosure to the public, presenting performance and business direction. The event is not only an opportunity for executives to broadcast their key information widely, but also is an essential period for analysts and investors to ask questions and give comments to top executives directly,” said SET Group Head Issuer & Listing Paveena Sriphothong.
Of the participants, 85 companies are listed on SET and 17 firms are on Market for Alternative Investment (mai). The newcomers are Angpao Assets pcl (NUSA), Asia Precision pcl (APCS), Chow Steel Industries pcl (CHOW), Dimet (Siam) pcl (DIMET), Forth Corporation pcl (FORTH), Hydrotek pcl (HYDRO), Kang Yong Electric pcl (KYE), PTT pcl (PTT), Thailuxe Enterprises pcl (TLUXE), and Trinity Watthana pcl (TNITY).
An Opportunity Day makes it convenient for analysts, investors, and the media to find out about the business and operations of listed companies - and for listed firms to communicate with these key audiences. SET schedules such events after every periodic disclosure of financial statements.
The event will provide live broadcasts for both domestic and foreign investors through Webcasts (www.set.or.th/oppday, www.settrade.com/oppday, www.moneychannel.co.th, www.hooninside.com, www.kaohoon.com, www.thunhoon.com, and www.moneymarthai.com) and other channels, such as iPhones, iPods, iPads, Blackberries and Android devices. Viewers are also able to watch past events, download related documents, and send questions to presenting companies directly through any of the above-mentioned websites. The event currently attracts about 135,000 viewers from 101 countries.
