Bangkok--20 Feb--IPC International Kindergarten At IPC International Kindergarten we believe that it is very important to get children involved in helping other children in need. This year we decided to hold an art exhibition and silent auction with canvases painted by 54 very small but enthusiastic artists representing 20 countries to create 42 extraordinary masterpieces. Aged between 17 months to 5 ? years old, some children were inspired by Monet, DaVinci, Van Gogh, David Hockey, Picasso, Dali, Jackson Pollack to name a few. Others worked from their own visions, individually or in groups, using a range of mix media including waterpaints, acrylics and paper. The only guideline given was for the artwork to be exclusively done by the children. Our teachers provided the materials, some vocal direction but most of all positive encouragement which is the basis of our IPC philosophy. Our talented children worked with great concentration and with such skill we were all thoroughly surprised and delighted by the outcome. We were immensely proud to offer them for sale at the silent auction held at IPC’s Parents Wine & Cheese night on Thursday 19th January. It was a wonderful and fun evening, complete with last minute bids, international bids and even some negotiations! Judging by the most generous (and competitive) bids from our IPC parents we know they were completely impressed by our mini artists. Our first ever silent auction raised an astounding 45,050baht. Again we would like to say a heartfelt thank you to our students, staff and parents who graciously supported this event and we look forward to doing this annually. After lots of research we decided to choose the World Vision organization as our charity. Our donation of 45,050baht will be a part of a “Breakfast for children” project which will provide Breakfast for underprivileged children at selected rural schools throughout Thailand. We explained to the children how the money we raised will go to feed small children breakfast. They were very happy to hear that and were very happy to help. On Wednesday 15th February we invited Dr Bunjongsek Supsopha from the World Vision Organization to attend IPC’s International Day Performance. After the show we were extremely pleased to present a cheque for 45,050baht to World Vision. It is truly humbling to know that this money will be used to provide approximately 2,252 breakfasts and IPC International Kindergarten look forward to continuing our tradition of raising money for those in need.
