Le Meridien Koh Samui Resort & Spa is participating in The 1st International Samui Fine Dining Festival presented by an international elite of executive chefs from 16 top restaurants all around the island, including our Executive Chef Pornthep Thongrak, who is offering a special 7-course fine dining menu throughout the month of March 2012.
The creative creations by Chef Pornthep includes Seared tuna with garlic peppercorn sauce topped with crispy garlic, soft shell crab with spicy green mango salad and cashew nuts, clear snow fish soup with fresh lemongrass, sweet basil and herbs, black ink pasta with scallop in mild green curry, mango and tamarind sorbet, grilled Australian tenderloin and lobster with Thai herbs and sweet potato served with Samui rum sauce and champagne sauce, and end the night with sweet treats like the coconut bavarois with kaffir lime fruit salad.
Priced at only THB 2,500 net per person.
In addition to the special 7-course fine dining dinner, Le Meridien Koh Samui Resort & Spa will also be hosting a Gala Dinner in cooperation with Chef Thibault Chiumenti, award-winning Chef de Cuisine from Plaza Ath?n?e Bangkok, A Royal Meridien Hotel, selected to create one of only five Gala Dinners to be specially featured on Saturday, 24 March 2012 at 08.00 PM.
He will be presenting his 5-course tour-de-force at Latest Recipe, a spectacular, traditional Thai-timbered, ocean-side restaurant offering mezzanine and 1st floor seating located at the recently unveiled Le Meridien Koh Samui Resort & Spa. Each dish is paired with specially selected wines from France, Argentina and South Africa.
Featured dishes include: A four-part appetizer involving lobster, caviar, salmon, Alaskan crab, and quail egg; A veloute, or soup, featuring porcini, chestnut and foie gras; Roasted snow fish with chorizo and white wine; a surprise sherbet; mushroom-crusted lamb with cannelloni, and; A suitably “gala” dessert of fresh vanilla parfait/pistachio rum-raisin ice cream. Each dish is paired with specially selected optional wines from France, Argentina and South Africa.
