Bangkok Bank Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors, Kosit Panpiemras, and fellow directors received Board of the Year Awards from Securities and
Exchange Commission Secretary-General Vorapol Socatiyanurak. The bank has been named Board of the Year for Distinctive Practices 2010/11, the Board with Consistent Best Practices, acknowledging its continuous excellence in winning the biennial award three consecutive times (2006/07, 2008/09 and 2010/11) and Audit Committee of the Year 2010/11. The awards presentation was organized by the Thai Institute of Directors Association in collaboration with the Board of Trade of Thailand, the Federation of Thai Industries, the Thai Bankers' Association, the Thai Listed Companies Association, and the Federation of Thai Capital Market Organizations. The award process is sponsored by the Stock Exchange of Thailand. The award committee considers top-performing boards appointed by shareholders to protect their interests by supervising and guiding the management of the company. Therefore the Board of Directors has a key role to play in ensuring the company's long-term success and fair return to shareholders. This initiative started in 2003 and has been organized biennially ever since, with endorsement from the National CG Committee chaired by H.E. the Prime Minister of Thailand.
