Mazda Sales (Thailand) Co. Ltd. has revealed that combined sales of every model in February reached 4,451 units, posing a growth of 33 percent. Deliveries have commenced for the BT-50 PRO, the latest-generation pickup which is enjoying tremendous acceptance from target customers. More than 7,000 orders have been placed in just 1 month, and this proves the customer acceptance of its styling and handling attractions going beyond those in conventional pickup trucks. The Mazda2 Sport and Elegance models are still highly popular with sales of 3,300 units.
Mr. Choichi Yuki, Managing Director of Mazda Sales (Thailand) Co. Ltd., said Mazda has enjoyed continued sales growth in February 2012, with an aggregate of 4,451 units, equivalent to a growth of 33 percent compared to the same period last year. The Mazda2 range, made up of the 5-door hatchback Sport and 4-door sedan Elegance, has the biggest sales with 3,327 units, up 60 percent, while sales of the new Mazda3 2.0 are still going strong at 269 units.
“Most importantly, the all-new Mazda BT-50 PRO has changed the face of the pickup industry and is enjoying higher market acceptance than expected. Slightly over a month after the official launch, more than 7,000 orders have been placed for the BT-50 and Mazda targets to deliver all the vehicles within a few months,” he said.
Ms. Sureetip La-Ongthong Chomthongdee, the company’s Marketing Director who has been behind the marketing success of the BT-50 PRO, said Mazda would like to thank customers for their acceptance in Mazda’s new passenger car-like pickup truck.
