KGI donated 10 million Baht to assist Thai people affected by last year’s floods, presenting the money to the Minister to the Prime Minister’s Office today. The money will be used in long-term rehabilitation projects. In addition, KGI also made donations to the Association of Securities Companies (ASCO) and to KGI employees.
Mr. Wei Chang Fang, Chief operating the chairman of KGI Securities (Thailand) , visited Mr. Niwattumrong Boonsongpaisan, Minister to the Prime Minister’s Office to make a 10 million Baht donation to assist Thai people affected by last year’s flooding. In making the donation Mr. Fang emphasized the need for long-term rehabilitation. As Taiwan had also experienced natural disasters such as earthquakes, Mr. Fang said that he fully sympathized with the Thai people.
In addition to the 10 million Baht donation, KGI also donated Baht 1.55 million to the Association of Securities Companies (ASCO), and donated up to Baht 4 million and provided low interest loans up to Baht 6 million to KGI employees.
Mr. Fang said that the KGI Group had operated in Thailand for many years, and that the donation was driven by a deep relationship with and regard for the Thai people. As a responsible member of Thai society, KGI feels strongly that it has a responsibility to help the Thai people.
“Our sympathies are with all of the Thai people in this disaster, and the KGI Group is very willing to help the Thai government and the Thai people to recover and re-build on a long-term basis”, said Mr. Fang
