Guest Chef Jess Barnes returns to Bed Supperclub to present his earthy, yet defined cuisine showcasing the best of local produce and supporting small farmsSure, Bangkok will head into the weekend of the March 30th and 31st with “Earth Hour” and environmentally sound practices on their minds, but Bed Supperclub will take on more than just an hour of electrical power savings for the internationally recognized “Earth Hour on Saturday, March 31st, 2012. Instead, Bed Supperclub will be letting it breathe the whole weekend.
On both Friday and Saturday, March 30th and 31st, Bed Supperclub welcomes back Australian Chef Jess Barnes who has received the Top New Tables Award from BK Mag in 2009 as well as the Top Chefs, 2010 award in Esquire Magazine.
Chef Jess Barnes’s 4 course locavore menu will source all ingredients from within a 100 mile radius from Bangkok and will feature all local produce and sustainable farm practices. Featured farms will include KU Beef (Kasetsart University Kamphaeng Saen University), Murrah Buffalo Farm (buffalo milk), and Daisy and Lulu’s Goat Farm (cheeses).
Additionally, Bed will join with local wine producer Siam Winery’s Monsoon Valley to pair each dish with a Thai wine.
On Saturday, the 31st, all lights (other than those used for safety purposes) will be turned off as Bed joins “Earth Hour.” The creative performances and decor will support this ‘light’s-off” experience. “In Bed with Pina” will continue to be the current running theme.
All Bed Supperclub staff have agreed to use environmentally sound means of transportation to arrive at work this same weekend.
Both nights will feature a 4 course menu and will be given an option of 4 paired wines from Siam Winery.
