KONE, one of the world’s leading elevator and escalator companies, is set to capture the growing markets in and around Bangkok as well as the booming tourist resorts of Pattaya, Phuket and Hua Hin.
KONE’s Thai operations have relocated to new premises in the Rasa Tower 2 complex on Phaholyothin Road which will be officially opened on March 29, 2012. The relocation marks an important milestone after nearly 20 years of successful operations in Thailand.
“We pride ourselves as a leader in design, technology and innovation in the elevator and escalator industry and we aim to grow in Thailand faster than the market in the coming years,” says Mr Branislav Balaz, managing director of KONE Thailand
“I’m confident that KONE’s technological strengths will be highly appreciated in the high-rise luxury markets both in Bangkok and up-country destinations. Additionally, the high quality and consistency of KONE’s technical support services also make us stand out in this industry” Mr Balaz adds.
The growth potential in Thailand is a result of expanding urbanization especially in and around Bangkok. This follows the same trend as in other important economies in South East Asia — notably Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore. KONE is the fastest growing elevator and escalator company in the market.
The concentration of people in urban areas increases the importance of moving them smoothly and efficiently. KONE’s objective is to offer the best People Flow experience, by developing and delivering solutions that enable people to move smoothly, safely and comfortably in buildings.
KONE is committed to contributing to sustainable urban development and has for years invested in creating eco-efficient solutions. Recent milestone was the achievement was recuding the energy consumption of its Asian volume elevators by 60%, a target set in 2008 and reached in 2010. Owing to the energy-saving and other technical strengths, KONE has become the chosen equipment provider in a long list of premium projects and important public infrastructure facilities.
In the thriving Thai tourism industry, for instance, KONE elevators are in leading Bangkok hotels such as the Centara Grand, Peninsular and Novotel. Premium condominium projects such as The MET and The River in Bangkok as well as Northpoint in Pattaya also use KONE equipment.
Perhaps attracting the largest rate of utilization are KONE elevators and autowalks at the Suvannabhumi International Airport, the main gateway into Thailand.
