THAI Provides Cargo Freighter Service with its Boeing 747-400 Freighter

Bangkok--10 Apr--Thai Airways Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) is ready to provide air cargo and commercial mail service on its Boeing 747-400 freighter aircraft as of 12 April 2012 onwards. This service strengthens the quality of the Company’s air cargo services operated to and from Asia, Europe, and Australia, as well as 9 other cities. Mr. Pichai Chunganuwad, THAI Managing Director, Cargo & Mail Commercial Department, said that the retrofit of THAI’s 2 Boeing 747-400 aircraft into freighters were conducted by Boeing. THAI’s freighter aircraft are equipped to carry 100 tons of cargo per flight. The Company’s first freighter has been completely retrofit and will enter the fleet for cargo freighter service as of 12 April 2012 on flight TG862 from Bangkok-Taipei-Narita-Bangkok, to and from THAI’s destinations served in Asia, Europe, and Australia, as well as 9 cities such as Taipei, Tokyo, Hyderabad, Chennai, New Delhi, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Sydney, and Bangkok. The Company also operates chartered flights for customers importing or exporting at high cargo volumes to the final destination.
